"'I want to rip things apart without immoral feelings.' I believe you said that once..."
"More than once. I told others that before I even met you."
"I know you said that on a bad day... But is it always in the back of your mind..?"
"Truthfully, yes. Though I don't consider myself less of a person because of it, if that's what you're implying."
    "I would never imply that..."
"Then why did you bring it up?"
"I... I've had thoughts like that my whole life as well."
"You? Of all people I'd say you're the most tightly knit individual I know."
    "Well... you should know something..."
    "Eh?"
"I wasn't always this way. When I was younger I couldn't control those thoughts. They turned into actions. I was hospitalized for a while... they never fully understood me but I guess I got enough therapy to function like society wants me to."
    "Why?"
    "Excuse me?"
"Why do you act how society tells you to? What's the reason you never let the least bit of that dormant side show?"
"I guess... I guess I'm scared. Scared that I won't be accepted, scared that if I open the door a crack, everything will come flooding out... I don't want to be back there again..."
"Fear is a powerful emotion, but you don't have to have so much of it. Try opening that door just a tiny crack and see how it feels. Drop the anxiety a bit and be yourself. Don't hide your true colors. Remember, just a touch of madness is what makes us all human."
"I'll try... But please, stop me if I go too far."
    "You won't. I know you won't. You're too strong of a person."
The silver-haired doctor pulled his companion into an embrace, undoing the bun in her hair as she rested her head on his shoulder. Her dark brown hair cascaded down her back, and she returned the embrace as a single tear fell from her cheek and soaked into his lab coat.
    "I'm scared."
    "I know."
The first sentence is an actual quote from Stein from episode 23, talking about what his madness truly meant.

The title and the act of undoing Francesca's hairstyle are supposed to be symbolic here. They both symbolize her need to be less uptight and to let a little bit of her own personal madness show, because it's what makes her her and what completes her personality. And who better to tell her that than someone who's been there before?
